Design

Lincoln Aquatic's design process starts with a free, on site review of your pool complex to discuss your objectives and identify energy saving opportunities. The assessment includes documentation of your existing equipment, analysis of your installation and the collection of operating data and photographs. After the assessment, Lincoln's Energy Efficiency Experts evaluate different options and prepare a presentation for you and your management team.

Once a project plan is chosen, Lincoln's engineers prepare CAD drawings, energy calculations, detailed equipment specifications, a project plan and a budget. Once approved, Lincoln will work with you and your staff to prepare and submit permit documents and coordinate with local building and inspection agencies to obtain the required approvals to move forward with your project.

Rebate Management

Generous rebates and other incentives are available from the state and your local utility but applying for them can be complex and requires a trained and certified expert. To receive rebates and incentives for your project an application, energy saving calculations, pay back data and other documentation is required. Lincoln Aquatics has successfully applied for and been granted numerous rebates and incentives for its customers.

During your on site assessment, our experts can explain these financing options to you. As part of our turn key solutions, we can manage all the calculations, applications and paperwork for you. And when your project is completed, we will make sure all the necessary inspections by local officials and your utility are completed.

Saving Electricity

There are numerous opportunities to save energy in your pool complex. Variable frequency drives and LED lighting are two of the most cost effective ways to reduce your electricity consumption. These upgrades will reduce your electricity consumption by up to 80% and will generate a rapid pay back. They also typically qualify for utility rebates and other incentives.

Another significant opportunity for saving electricity is through pool automation. Talk to a Lincoln Energy Efficiency Expert to learn more about our custom controller that can monitor your system and control your variable frequency drives, pumps, solar array, valves and other components of your systems. Our controller will make your system easy to monitor and program for optimal efficiency.

Saving Gas

Heating your pool is typically one of the largest expenses related to the operation of your facility. Replacing your current heaters with new, high efficiency heaters will not only save enormous amounts of energy and reduce your operating costs but they will also be more reliable and require less maintenance. Your heaters can also be configured to optimize their efficiency and provide redundant heaters, so you will always have a backup if one of your heaters is down for maintenance or repair.

Solar energy is a great way to save on your gas usage. New solar technologies and panels capture the sun's energy and uses it to heat your pool. The advanced design of the panels used by Lincoln Aquatics are stronger, more durable and more efficient than older designs. To capture the maximum energy from the sun, the panels must be sited carefully and installed properly to achieve an optimal flow rate and minimal pump load. Through the use of our custom pool automation controller the operation of your solar array can be programmed to operate at peak efficiency and meet the requirements of your pool schedule.

Another way to save gas is to reduce heat loss by installing a new, high efficiency pool cover. Pool covers reduce evaporation heat loss and reduce the energy required to maintain your pool temperature. Pool covers typically have a useful life of 4-5 years. If it is time to replace your pool cover, talk to your Lincoln Aquatics sales representative or call our Customer Service Team at (800) 223-5450 to get a quote on a new pool cover. The energy savings will be significant and a new cover will quickly pay for itself. (When speaking with them, don't forget to inquire about an automated pool cover winder. A winder makes it easy to remove and store your pool cover. It will also extend the useful life of your cover and may qualify for rebates and other incentives.

Saving Water

In addition to reducing your pool heating expense, a pool cover will also reduce water loss through evaporation. We all need to conserve water and a pool cover will reduce the amount of water you need to add to your pool. Reducing the amount of water needed will also reduce your chemical use. So a pool cover is a great way to save water, energy and chemicals... and reduce your operating expenses.

Cleaning and maintaining your pool filters can also consume large amounts of water. Depending on your situation, there are solutions that can reduce the frequency and water requirements related to maintaining your pool filters. Contact your Lincoln Aquatics sales representative or call our Customer Service Team at (800) 223-5450 for more information on solutions available for your situation.

A number of financing options may be available to help pay for your project but funds are limited so you need to get started with you project. Apply for your incentives and lock them in before funds are exhausted.

Rebates are available from your local utility and are usually based on the calculated energy savings and pay back period. The bigger the energy savings and faster the payback, the bigger the rebate. Once a project is designed it is important to immediately apply for your rebate "reservation". The reservation locks in the funding for your project and once granted gives you up to 18 months to actually complete the project. But the key is to get your funding locked in now so you get the maximum rebate possible.

Many utilities also offer "On-Bill" financing to help reduce your out-of-pocket expense for your project. The concept is simple... the utility pays for the portion of your project not covered by your rebate and you repay the utility over time. The repayment is typically structured so the energy savings on your monthly utility bill are greater than the repayment added to your monthly bill. So your essentially pay for your project and new equipment through the energy savings resulting from your project. All with little or no out-of-pocket expense for you.

After the loan is repaid you will realize substantial reductions in your monthly energy bills and by reducing your energy consumption you will be sheltered from the expense resulting from future energy cost increases. Zero percent financing is currently available but funds are limited and it is important to lock in your loan while funds are available.

The State of California also has a special program for public schools and community colleges which was approved as part of Proposition 39. Prop 39 provides grants to these institutions to pay for energy efficiency upgrades. Upgrades to your pool complex not only qualify for this special program but typically generate the fastest pay back and greatest return on investment of any energy efficiency project at your school.
